A.T.E. Chandra Foundation, Co-Founded by GivingPi Members, Amit and ArchanaChandra, has been recognized as one of the top 10 innovative practices inground water management by the Atal Bhujal Yojana (Atal Jal), a central government scheme overseen by the National Project Management Unit(NPMU). The Foundation’s goal is to rejuvenate 1.7 lakh waterbodies in eight of India’s driest states, bringing access to water to 2.6 lakh villages. This recognition underscores their commitment to sustainable water management and their efforts to make a significant impact in addressing water scarcity in India.
GivingPi Member, Anupama Dalmia, is the Founder of Seekho Sikhao Foundation(SSF), an organization dedicated to strengthening existing educational systems in government schools and utilizing local resources towards achieving systemic and sustainable change. SSF recently organized a transformative 15-day summer camp across 117 government schools in rural Uttar Pradesh. This initiative, deeply rooted in community engagement, saw the active participation of local gram panchayats, school management committees (SMCs), and volunteers, fostering a stronger sense of ownership for education within the community. The camp featured a diverse array of activities designed to enhance life skills and academic engagement among children during their summer break. From creative sessions like “Kabaad Se Jugaad” (making useful items from waste) and clay art to environmental education through tree planting and medicinal plant identification, the camp was a vibrant blend of learning and fun.
Swades Foundation, Co-Founded by GivingPi Members, Ronnie and Zarina Screwvala, recently organized its fifth health camp in Peth, Nashik, as part of their ongoing initiative to conduct local health camps. With the support of their hospital partners PHC- Kumbhale, SMBT Hospital, and Tulsi Eye Hospital, the camp successfully screened over 230 individuals. Multiple cases of cataract, diabetes ,and hypersensitivity were identified, along with suspected cardiac and gynecological complications that had previously gone unaddressed due to a lack of awareness or access. Additionally, over 100 spectacles were distributed free of charge, and more than 100 blood samples were collected for CBC, lipid profile, liver function test, and thyroid test. GivingPi Member, Poonam Nanda, is the Trustee & Chief Mentor at the Yuvraj Singh Foundation (YouWeCan). Their 'Swasth Mahila, Swasth Goa' initiative, in collaboration with SBI Foundation and the government of Goa, has screened 110,000 women for breast cancer. This remarkable effort has led to the diagnosis of 58 cases, identification of 2,299 suspects, and treatment of 53 women. The project exemplifies unwavering dedication to women's health, demonstrating the impact of proactive healthcare initiatives. By providing early detection and treatment, YouWeCan is not only saving lives but also empowering women to lead healthier lives with dignity and strength. This initiative highlights the power of collaboration between government, NGOs, and philanthropic individuals in creating meaningful change in healthcare access and outcomes.
GivingPi Member, Raju Bharat, has provided significant support to Project Chhaya, a non-profit working in animal welfare. Through his trust-based philanthropy, Mr. Bharat has spearheaded crucial healthcare and infrastructure initiatives benefiting over 15,000 animals in the past three years. His financial support has been instrumental in key infrastructure projects, including the construction of an air-conditioned operation theatre with power backup and oxygen cylinders and the acquisition of 2 Tata Ace vehicles that transport injured animals to Chhaya 6 days a week for treatment, ensuring their safe return upon recovery. Furthermore, Mr. Bharat's commitment to sustainability has led to Chhaya becoming a green project, equipped with solar geysers, solar lights, and a bio-gas plant, significantly reducing its carbon footprint. Mukul Madhav Foundation, Co-Founded by GivingPi Member, Ritu Prakash Chhabria, has been working for the past two decades to make safe and clean water more accessible to communities in India. Despite access to water being one of our most basic needs, over 35 million Indians still struggle to receive a consistent and safe supply of water. Ek Saath – The Earth Foundation, Founded by GivingPi Member Pragya Kapoor, has launched the 'Preserving Heritage – Elephanta Island' project in collaboration with JNPA- Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority. The project aims to promote sustainable waste management and honor the rich heritage of Elephanta Island.Ek Saath Foundation, along with Waste Matters, ConnectFor volunteers, and various supporters, conducted a successful clean-up drive, collecting a total of1,060 kg of waste from the island. This effort contributes significantly to the restoration of the island's natural beauty. Additionally, a street play by YoungCreative Production was performed to raise awareness about the importance of cultural and environmental preservation. OTV Cares, an initiative by GivingPi Member, Jagi Panda, continues its commitment to empowering women from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. In its second year, the initiative has launched a free tailoring training center at Centurion University in Jatani, Khordha. This year, 25 women from various parts of Odisha have been selected to receive free training in tailoring.OTV Cares covers all costs for accommodation and food, providing these women with an opportunity for self-reliance by guaranteeing 100% placement for the trainees after completing their training. The initiative targets women from aspirational districts, offering them a chance to improve their lives through skilld evelopment and job placement.
Rouble Nagi Art Foundation, Founded by GivingPi Member, Rouble Nagi, recently opened its first computer training centre in Anantnag, South Kashmir. This state of-the-art facility is designed to empower the local community through digital education and skill development. Equipped with modern technology, the centre will offer courses in basic computer skills, programming, Tally, Photoshop, and digital literacy workshops. This initiative reflects the Foundation's commitment to bridging the digital divide and fostering socio-economic growth in the region. GivingPi Member and Chairperson at Avanee Foundation, Avantika Dalmia is the co-chair on the advisory board of Sabhyata Foundation. The Foundation’s vision is to preserve and promote India’s cultural heritage, art and architecture. Under the'Adopt a Heritage 2.0' project, Sabhyata Foundation has taken on the upkeep and promotion of four monuments in Delhi - Purana Qila, Humayun’s Tomb,Safdarjung’s Tomb, and Mehrauli Archaeological Park. The Foundation aims to enhance visitor experiences at these sites, focusing on amenities, accessibility ,safety, and knowledge. GivingPi Member, Shraddha Bhonsle from the erstwhile royal family of Sawantwadi is reviving the 16th-century art of Ganjifa by introducing design intervention and market linkages to empower local artisan communities and increase livelihoods in the region through art and craft. Artisans create innovative products across different categories, along with playing cards in ornamental boxes, available for sale both online and offline. Through their intervention the family has been able to provide employment to a dozen artists and collaborated with cultural organizations, government bodies, and non-profit groups to support and promote Ganjifa preservation. GivingPi Member, Ashish Choudhary’s family Foundation, Baijnath Chaudhary Charitable Trust, recently collaborated with Artverse to host ‘Identify’, a 3-day visual art exhibition at the Kolkata Centre for Creativity. The event, curated by Mrs. Nainy Choudhary, Founder of Identify, showcased the works of 18 aspiring artists from West Bengal.
