The Sports and Society Accelerator (SSA) and UNESCO held a consultation to discuss the scope and opportunity to develop an impact framework for measuring positive social change through Sport and Physical Activity (SAPA) in India. The event focused on the development and refinement of a draft SAPA Impact Framework that addresses challenges faced by SAPA-based organizations, particularly in the Indian context. GivingPi worked closely with SSA to bring in funders from GivingPi who focus on sports for development, to share their inputs for the framework.For members who are interested in funding or are already funding sports for development (S4D) in any capacity in India, do get in touch as we are building an impact mission towards growing the sector for this year with sector experts and development thought leaders in the S4D space.

With a commitment to nurturing robust, sustainable, and scalable NGOs, the TaRa AtmaNirbhar Grant, conceived by the Tarachand Ramnath Seva Trust, anchored by GivingPi Member Nand Kishore Rathi, provided 7 early to mid-stage grassroots organizations the opportunity to enhance their skills and systems through organizational development support over the past year. The 7 selected NGOs underwent intensive workshops covering essential aspects such as logic models, branding, and communication, with the aim of improving and enhancing their internal processes. The Trust also provided a platform for the NGOs to showcase their achievements and forge connections within the donor community through a graduation ceremony, featuring interactive NGO stalls that facilitated engagement among attendees. Hand For Handmade Foundation, Co-Founded by GivingPi Member, Vipul Jain, recently launched ‘Hamari Virasat’ - an initiative celebrating the artisan sector in India by showcasing 75 handmade textile artworks, woven together in a mural, created by different artisan groups from across the country, which will be exhibited across cities over the year. The initiative also featured workshops highlighting the stories of the artists who contributed to the making of the mural and explored how our constitutional values have translated into the welfare of all citizens, artisans in particular.
